Talking about beauty Queen, My very first post has to start with my beautiful birthplace PALAMPUR, the tea capital of north India. It is among the 10 biggest cities of Himachal Pradesh with high literacy rate. Surrounded by mountains, pine forests and tea gardens, it is home to terrific deep gorges, small streams, wild animals and a perfect holiday destination for the souls close to nature. It lies near the heart of India in Kangra valley, a district in Himachal Pradesh.

This beautiful town is protected by the Dhauladhar mountain range, which magnificently remains covered with the snow throughout the year. The combination of greenery and water gives Palampur a distinctive look. Adding on to the beauty is the pleasant weather in summers and greenery in rainy season. Many people confuse 'Palampur' as a hill station. On the contrary, scenery shows terrace-farming fields on one side and snow-covered mountains on other side which makes it a valley.

The market in Palampur offers a variety of local Himachali handicrafts like shawls, traditional caps, capes and lambwool socks. From Bhuttico, the ancient co-operative, hallmarked for their quality in woolens to International brands like Puma, Adidas, Woodland have found a potential market in this area. The town has a fleet of elite class which is constantly pushing Palampur towards modernisation. Culinary business has seen a huge shift from simple restaurants to comfortable lounges and resorts and bars with exotic cuisine in last two decades. The emerging shopping complexes and city clubs are offering more facilities to people.
